A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 2, 2024, for Curtis James LeBlanc, Sr., 81, who passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at his home in Delcambre, surrounded by family.
Entombment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia.
Rev. Garrett Savoie will be the Celebrant.
Visitation will be at Pellerin Funeral Home from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Thursday and will continue on Friday from 10:00 am until 1:30 pm.
A rosary, led by Deacon Durk Viator, will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Thursday.
Curtis James LeBlanc, Sr. was born in Vermilion Parish on November 25, 1942, to the late Alfred Paul and Edoxie David LeBlanc. He briefly worked for Pelican Creamery, then transitioned to the oil fabrication industry, working for Red Fox Machine & Supply and Ace Machine Fabrication & Construction until 2016. Curtis was a great cook of Cajun cuisine, and he loved Cajun music and going to the horse races. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a friend to many. He will be deeply missed.
Mr. LeBlanc is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Delta Reaux LeBlanc; six children, Kevin LeBlanc (Trudy), Brian LeBlanc (Bessie), Keith LeBlanc (Tonia), Curtis LeBlanc, Jr. (Jamie), Crissie Gary (Ray), and Rachelle Racca (Jason); grandchildren, Karlie Calderon (Luke), Jonathan LeBlanc, Tori Arceneaux (Andre’), Drew LeBlanc (Alana), Ridge LeBlanc (Katherine), Logan LeBlanc (Jena), Seth LeBlanc, Rylie LeBlanc, Brooke Aaron, Jacob and Jolie Gary, and Cole Racca (fiancée’ Ally); great-grandchildren, Maddox Toby, Saige Bellard, Stetson Gary, and Stella, Emerson, and Margot LeBlanc (and two more on the way, due in September and October); numerous nieces and nephews; and beloved pets, Nala and Mawsie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sydney Rae Gary; a brother, Walter LeBlanc; and two sisters, Inez Boudreaux and Lona Dore’.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to his caregiver, Nicole Willis; and to Hospice of Acadiana for extraordinary care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Acadiana, Lafayette, LA.
