Curtis Melancon

St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM, Thursday, September 15, 2005, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Curtis Blaise ""Smiley"" Melancon, 56, who died Monday, September 12, 2005 at Dauterive Hospital in New Iberia. Entombment will be in St. Michael Cemetery ~ St. Elizabeth Mausoleum in St. Martinville. Survivors include his mother, Maudry Melancon; his former wife, Debbie Melancon; his sons, Freddie Melancon, Paul D. Melancon and Jeffery D. Melancon, all of St. Martinville; his daughters, Penny M. Falgout and her husband, Troy D. of Youngsville and Heidi M. Bain and her husband, Jakob of Lakeside, Montana; his sisters, Barbara Fawvor and Nancy Castille, both of St. Martinville; and his grandchild, Taylor Melancon of Youngsville. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Melancon. The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 p.m. ~ 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday and continue at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Freddie Melancon, Paul Melancon, Jeffery Melancon, Troy Falgout, Jakob Bain and Ian Blanchard. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Theriot, Donald Blanchard, Jamie Castille, Buddy Hebert and Creed Dugas. Pellerin Funeral Homes of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
