Curtis was born on November 5, 1942, in Orange, Texas. Skipper, as he was affectionately known by those closest to him, possessed an unwavering zest for life. His remarkable journey was adorned with a multitude of passions and interests that shaped him into the extraordinary individual that he was. A true outdoorsman at heart, Skipper found peace and joy in indulging in his favorite hobbies of fishing and bow hunting.

In addition to his love for the great outdoors, Skipper was an active pillar in his church community. He devoted countless hours to helping others find their faith and nurturing the spiritual growth of those around him. His unwavering commitment to his beliefs made a profound impact on all who crossed his path.

With an insatiable appetite for experiencing new cultures and embracing adventures far and wide, Skipper traveled the world with wide-eyed wonder. Each journey provided him with an opportunity to expand his horizons and forge everlasting connections with people from diverse backgrounds. His vibrant spirit ignited a spark wherever he ventured.

But above all else, Skipper's love for his family knew no bounds. He treasured every moment spent with his loved ones and considered them his greatest treasure. His unconditional love shone brightly in every gesture, every embrace, and every word of encouragement shared. The mantle of a father figure extended beyond his own kin; he embraced everyone in need as if they were family.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Wilkinson; daughters, Stacey Lessard, Shannon Carmouche (Brian), Jessica Wilkinson (Nicholas), and Meredith Wilkinson (Parker); sister, Sally Wilkinson (Mark); and his grandchildren, Danielle Harrison, Blake Arnold, Courtney Arnold, Riley Carmouche, Chloe Carmouche, Sophie Carmouche, and Jon Downs.
