Cynthia D. Ardeneaux

New Iberia – A funeral service will be held at Pellerin Funeral Home at 6:30 pm Tuesday, March 5, 2024, for Cynthia D. Ardeneaux, 66, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at her home, with her family by her side. 

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Tuesday. 

A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 6:00 pm Tuesday.  

Private entombment will be at a later date. 

Cynthia Darcey Ardeneaux was born in New Iberia, Louisiana, on April 21, 1957, to the late William “Dub” and Elsie Freyou Darcey. 

She had a fulfilling career working as a receptionist in the medical field. She started at Dauterive Hospital, where she touched the lives of many patients and colleagues with her compassion and kindness. Later on, she became an integral part of the Urology Clinic for Doctors Roy and Forest. Her dedication to helping others did not stop there - Cynthia also ran her own business, C.C. Postal Service, where she continued to make a difference in the lives of those around her.

Outside of work, Cynthia had many passions that brought joy to her life. She had a love for the thrill of the casino, particularly excelling at Texas Hold 'Em. Dancing was another one of her favorite pastimes, often seen following the tunes of Tommy G and his band. But above all else, Cynthia treasured moments spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her love and care knew no bounds when it came to those closest to her heart.

Mrs. Ardeneaux is survived by her children, Blair Ardeneaux (Tia), Amber Ardeneaux (Derek), and Taryn Mayea (Nick); sister, Cheryl Delahoussaye (Frank); brother, Rickey Darcey (Peggy); and grandchildren, Cameron Mayea (Grace), Sterlyn Mayea, Brennan Ardeneaux, Brianna Ardeneaux, Kaizly Viator, Grayson Mayea, Braelynn Viator, and Hudson Derouen. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Chris Ardeneaux. 

Cynthia left behind a legacy that will be remembered by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
