Cynthia Fournet Moore

January 21, 1949 — April 15, 2010

St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Monday, April 19, 2010, at Jenkins Memorial Baptist Church in St. Martinville, for Cynthia Fournet Moore, 61, who passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at her residence. Interment will follow at Fournet Cemetery in St. Martinville. Her funeral service will be conducted by Reverends Jessie Charpentier, Wallace Primeaux, Jr., and Dor Langley. Cindy earned her B.S. from U.S.L., Masters from College of St. Francis, and participated in numerous seminary extension courses arranged by Evangeline Baptist Association. She was employed by Our Lady of Lourdes in Blood Bank for 24 years, and worked as a Blood Bank Compliance Officer with Our Lady of the Lake for 5 years. Cindy was a member of the Louisiana State Society - American Medical Technology; and served as the Editor for 40 years of the Pelican L.S.S.-A.M.T. newsletter. She was twice selected as Pillar of the Society L.S.S.-A.M.T.; and also received the L.S.S.-A.M.T. Presidents Award and 40 Years Service Award. Cindy was an active member of Jenkins Memorial Baptist Church, serving as director of the Childrens Sunday School Department, where she taught 4th, 5th, and 6th grades. She sang in the choir and was a member of the church decorating committee. Her love for children was also demonstrated by the attention she devoted to her nieces and nephews. She was an avid bird watcher and dog lover. Cindy supported the U.L. football, basketball, and baseball programs. Survivors include her father, Dr. Kenneth Fournet, Sr., and step mother, Patricia Sibley Fournet, of St. Martinville; ;three brothers, Kenneth Fournet, Jr. and his wife, Rachel, of Broussard, Ronald Fournet and his wife, Lucille, of Lafayette, and Dr. Timothy Fournet and his wife, Liz, of Cookville, Tenn.; four sisters, Renee Richter and her husband, Don, of Sunset, Carrie Curet and her husband, John, of New Iberia, Cheryl Lambert and her husband, Mark, of Lafayette, and Elaine Fournet and her husband, Flabio Perez, of Brooklyn, New York; her step brother, George R. Jones and his wife, Kathie of Lafayette; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, ;Elsie Cooper Fournet. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 1:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Sunday and continue at 7 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Monday. Pallbearers will be Ryan Richter, Sean Curet, Kenneth Fournet, III, David Fournet, Samuel Fournet, and Mark Lambert. Honorary pallbearers will be her brothers and sisters.
