St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 23, 2019, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Cynthia Marie Sampy, 45, who passed away on Monday, November 11, 2019, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Notre Dame Catholic Church from 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Saturday.
A rosary will be prayed at 8:30 am on Saturday.
Interment will follow at Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro.
Memories of her beautiful spirit and fun nature will be treasured by her husband of 18 years, Steven Rayland Sampy, Jr.; her father, David Bonhomme, Sr.; three daughters, Quintella Chantel Leon, Quaninsha La'Shay Leon, and Tyranicka Nate' Cormier; son, Quaderrious Ra'Shun Sampy; one granddaughter, TyAsia Leon; three grandsons, Brilun (Doddle Bug) Jones, Mardrique (MJ) Waters, and Braylen (BJ) Waters; five sisters, Stephanie (Christopher) Flugence of St. Martinville, Shanekwa (Nicholas) Morrison of Lafayette, Franchesska Bonhomme, Sha-Tisha Bonhomme, Jatasha (Daniel) Iglus, all of Breaux Bridge; four brothers, Daniel Marshall of St. Martinville, David Bonhomme, Jr., Keaton Bonhomme, and Tyrus Bonhomme, all of Breaux Bridge; her grandmother, Beatrice Leon; one sister-in-law, Carol (Rick) Thomas of Carencro; brother-in-law, Altony (Michelle) Davis of Lafayette; Cynthia is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Joyce Leon; two sisters, Quintella Leon and Latasha Leon; one brother, Joshua Leon; one grandchild, Landon Leon; maternal grandfather, Mr. T-Tan; paternal grandparents, Howard Bonhomme, Sr. and Lovenia Joseph Bonhomme; great grandparents, Gabriel Leon, Sr., and Edmae Leon; her best friends, Kenisha (Christopher) Antoine of New Iberia and Cheryl Lynn Abraham; and one aunt, Mary Leon.
