New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, December 27, 2008, at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church in New Iberia for Dalton Anthony Dor, 68, who passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at his residence, after a lengthy battle with A.L.S., "Lou Gehrig's Disease".
Interment will follow at Nativity of Our Lady Cemetery in New Iberia.
Father Mike Arnaud will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Dianna Delcambre and Rosalind Dor. The Eulogy will be given by Mike Stansbury and Cindy Trahan.
Dalton, a native of New Iberia, served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Monticello, and was the owner and President of Angel Air Repair and Specialty Co., since 1971. He was an avid golfer who also loved cooking and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his loving wife, Pamela S. Dor, of New Iberia; one son, Zachary Dor, of New Iberia; four daughters, Rosalind Dor, Raynette Fino and her husband, Ronald, all of New Iberia, Dr. Meghan Harris and her husband, Stuart, of Shreveport; and Nichole Bonin and her husband, Andy, of Houston, TX; three brothers, Normand Dor, of Loreauville, Larry Dayle Dor, of Erath, and Bert Dor and his wife, Jenny, of New Iberia; one sister, Dianna D. Delcambre and her husband, Brien, of New Iberia; and three grandchildren, Luke Bulliard, Jake Wyman, and Adam Bonin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Laureal "Larry" and Nettie Jackson Dore.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in New Iberia from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday and continue at 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Friday evening.
Pallbearers will be Mike Stansbury, Jerry Trahan, Stuart Harris, Greg Whitaker, Ronald Fino, and Zachary Dor.
Honorary pallbearers will be Georgie Bulliard, Will Langlinais, Phil Patout, Carl McDowell, Robert Romero, George Carroll, Al Delhomme, Kenneth Kenner, Jr., Rodney Schmidt, and Bobby Sandoz.
