Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, July 18, 2008, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Dalton Mitchell Menard, 87, who passed away on Monday, July 14, 2008 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Reverend Fr. Paul LaFleur, Pastor of St. Bernard Church, will officiate at the funeral Mass and conduct the services.
Mr. Menard was a veteran of World War II, having honorably served his country in the United States Army. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, as well as indoors. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his loving wife of 69 years, Anna Mae Degeyter Menard, of Breaux Bridge; four sons, Ivan John Menard, of New Iberia, Ronald James Menard, of Breaux Bridge, Thomas Dale Menard and his wife, Verna Jean, of Columbia, PA, and Norris Mitchell Menard, of New Iberia; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Edia Guidry Menard; two brothers, Joseph and Pierre Menard; and two sisters, Imelda Menard Speyers and Anna Lou Menard Poirier.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Thursday and continue at 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Friday.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
