Dalton "Sirop" Joseph Theriot

Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 am on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Dalton J. Theriot, 85, who passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 2:30 pm until 9:00 pm on Monday, and continue on Tuesday at 7:00 am until 11:00 am. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Monday. Rev. Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Janice Pickard. Gift Bearers will be Phyllis and Wilson Theriot. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Dalton worked at Martin Mills for 25 years and was awarded for his dedication in the Maintenance Department. Dalton loved working in his garden and everything he produced in his garden was given to family, friends and neighbors. He will be remembered for his kindness and as a hard working man. He is survived by his brothers, Wilson Theriot and wife Phyllis of Breaux Bridge, and Clifford Theriot and wife Gayle of St. Martinville; sisters, Lillian Blanchard and husband Camile of Catahoula, Ollie Verret of Cade, Geraldine Dore and husband Nolan of St. Martinville, and Emily Bergeron and husband Paul of Breaux Bridge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noe and Devine Bijeaux Theriot. Pallbearers will be Paul Bergeron, Camile Blanchard, Wilson Theriot, Clifford "Bero" Theriot, Joey Theriot and Rilius Verret.
