Breaux Bridge, Louisiana- A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, December 02, 2023, at Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge for Damontrai Lionel Mason, 27, who passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023.  

A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge on Saturday, December 2nd from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Pastor Darren Benoit will officiate at the funeral service.

Interment will follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum - No. 2. 

Damontrai Lionel Mason, born on November 26th, 1995, in Lafayette, departed this world on November 19th, 2023. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his beautiful personality and remarkable achievements will always be remembered.

Upon completing his education, Damontrai embarked on a noble path of service to his country. He joined the United States Army and became an 88 mic-position ammunition truck driver. His commitment to protecting others and putting their needs before his own exemplified his selfless nature. Damontrai's military service allowed him to showcase courage, discipline, and devotion to duty - qualities that defined him both as a soldier and as an exceptional human being.

Outside of his military duties, Damontrai possessed a plethora of talents and interests that brought immense joy into the lives of those around him. He had an enchanting voice that could captivate anyone within earshot. Singing was not just a hobby; it was his way of connecting with the world and expressing himself. Whether performing in local events or serenading loved ones, Damontrai's voice had the power to touch hearts.

In addition to rapping, Damontrai possessed remarkable dancing skills. His movements were filled with energy, grace, and charisma - a true testament to his vibrant spirit and zest for life. Through dance, he showcased creativity and artistry that left audiences in awe.

Moreover, Damontrai's talent extended beyond music and dance. He had an innate ability as a skilled truck driver, effortlessly navigating the roads with precision and expertise. Behind the wheel of any vehicle he drove, Damontrai exuded confidence and demonstrated his remarkable driving skills, earning the admiration of those who witnessed his finesse firsthand.

Beyond his professional achievements and hobbies, Damontrai was also a gifted musician. He composed and wrote most of his musical arrangements, leaving behind a legacy of beautiful melodies that will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to hear them. He is survived by his mother, Florence Mason; father, Lionel Mason; sisters; Chelsey Ledet and Kelsey Mason; maternal grandfather, Pierre Herman Ledet; nieces, Zariya Ledet and Davlynn Williams; and his nephew, Dreu Mason. 

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Revis Mason Sr.; and his maternal grandmother, Mary Lee Ledet. 

Pallbearers will be Johnathan Ledet, Dominick Ledet, Skyler Williams, Quentin Garrick Jr., Braylon Andrus, and Tylan Jones.

Honorary pallbearers will be Herman Ledet Jr., Clayton Ledet, Donald Clement Sr., Donald Clement Jr., Erick Ledet, Paul Scott, Clyde Ledet, Bryson Andrus, Clayton Steward, and Mickey Turner.
