Dan Richard Thornton

Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., on Thursday, October 23, 2008, in Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel, for Dan Richard Thornton, 63, who passed away on Monday, October 20, 2008 at the Heart Hospital of Lafayette. Fr. Allen Breaux will conduct the funeral service. Dan was the owner and operator of M & M Fishing Center in Henderson, LA. He was a member of the Task Force of the Wildlife & Fisheries Board and the Magnolia Crappie Club in Mississippi. Dan was an avid fisherman and will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Jo Story Thornton, of Breaux Bridge; two daughters, Amber Michelle Thibodeaux and her husband, Martin, of Arnaudville, and Dawn LaRae McCall, of Ventress, LA; one brother, Jack E. Thornton and his wife, Betty, of Nederland, TX; and one granddaughter, Mazie Camille Thibodeaux. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mercier Evans Thornton. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Wednesday and continue at 8 a.m. until time of service on Thursday.
