Daniel Paul Bourgeois, Sr.

New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 17, 2007, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in New Iberia for Daniel Paul Bourgeois,Sr. 51, who died Friday, October 12, 2007 in New Iberia. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Steve LeBlanc will be the Celebrant. Readers will be Renee Reel and Linda Lasseigne. Gift Bearers include Daniel Bourgeois, Jr. and Sandy Bourgeois. A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Daniel worked for Cargill Salt, with over 30 years of service. He enjoyed working in his yard and helping others. Always staying busy, he was involved in a lot of charity work, and the Band Boosters. Most of all, Daniel enjoyed taking care of his family putting them above everything else. Survivors include his wife, Toni Miguez Bourgeois of New Iberia; mother, Gloria Badeaux Bourgeois of New Iberia; sons, Ethan Bourgeois of Key Largo, Florida, Daniel Bourgeois, Jr. of Sunset, Ryan Landry of Lafayette, Ross Landry of New Iberia; daughters, Rebecca Wall and husband Craig of Broussard, Renee Reel and husband Travis of New Iberia; brothers, Ricky Bourgeois of New Iberia, Michael Bourgeois and wife Sandy Landry Bourgeois of New Iberia; sisters, Linda Lasseigne and husband Ted of New Iberia, Brenda Moreaux and husband Ernie of New Iberia; grandchildren, Christian Gage Landry, Jenna Marie Rawls Landry Wall, Alexis Landry, and soon to arrive baby Wall; sister-in-law, Phyllis "Terri" Wilcox and husband Chris of Norfolk, Virginia; friend and mother of his children, Rita Marie Ponthieux of Sunset; former mother-in-law, Rita Smith of Sunset. He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Joseph Bourgeois; grandparents, Ellis and Levie Badeaux, Calice and Elian Bourgeois; mother-in-law, Clotilde "Connie" Miguez. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, from 11:30 AM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be at 7:00 PM Tuesday. Visitation will continue Wednesday from 8:00 AM until time of service. Pallbearers will be Ricky Bourgeois, Michael Bourgeois, Daniel Bourgeois, Jr., Ryan Landry, Ross Landry, Ernie Moreaux, Travis Reel, and Michael Bourgeois, Jr. Honorary pallbearers include Ethan Bourgeois and Matthew Bourgeois.
