New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, August 17, 2018, at St. Edward Catholic Church in New Iberia for Daniel Joseph Chaisson, 59, who passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2018, in New Orleans.
Interment will follow in the St. Edward Cemetery.
Rev. Thomas Vu will be the Celebrant.
A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 8:00 am until 10:30 am at Pellerin Funeral Home. A rosary will be prayed at 9:30 am Friday.
A native and longtime resident of New Iberia, Daniel was born on January 24, 1959, and has been a resident of Metairie for the past 18 years. A 1976 graduate of New Iberia Senior High, he was the first black student council president at Spencer's Business College. He was the former assistant manager of the All-State Credit Plan in New Iberia, and was an executive sales director for Terminix and J&J Exterminating. Daniel lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed cars, especially sport cars, fishing, golfing, riding motorcycles, and traveling.
Survivors include his son, Mikkel Chaisson of Houston, Texas; sisters, Linda Robertson and husband Michael of New Iberia, Glenora Pellerin and husband Ronald of Franklin; brother, Morris R. Chaisson of New Iberia; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rene and Annie Tauriac Chaisson, and a sister, Mary L. Chaisson.
Pallbearers will be Mikkel Chaisson, Raymond Boutte, Jr., Dwayne Boutte, Devon Sonnier, Kameron Sonnier, and Steven Chaisson.
Honorary pallbearers include Ronald Pellerin, Sr., Ronald Pellerin, Jr., Jamie Pellerin, Michael Robertson, Bashamma Deal, Lionel Aaron, Raniel Chaisson, and Martin Arceneaux.
