New Iberia - Surrounded by family, Daniel Fred Dworaczyk, 87, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, September 9, 2023.
Visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home on Friday, September 15, 2023 at 8:30 a.m., with a rosary being recited at 10:00 a.m. Fr. Francis Miller, OFM will officiate the Funeral Service at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.
One of 14 children, Daniel was born on March 29, 1936 in George West, Texas to Josephine Korcznski and Henry Dworaczyk. He went to work at an early age and with his incredible work ethic and gifted knowledge, he had a long, well-respected career in the oil and gas industry where he was affectionately known as “Frog.”
Daniel loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. In his younger years, he spent lots of time with his buddies, hunting white-tailed deer in Texas and elk in the mountains of Colorado. When he settled back into Louisiana, he spent many days in the fall, fishing for red fish and speckled trout. Most of all, he greatly enjoyed the simplicity of gathering together with those he cared most about - his family. His grand and great grandchildren will fondly remember their Pawpaw’s chocolate treats, whether M&M’s in his front pocket or Hershey Kisses in a jar, he was always waiting on their arrival for hugs and their animated stories.
Daniel married the love of his life, Violet Harryman, and over their 67-year marriage, they were a beautiful example of faith, love and strong family values. He was a great friend, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Violet Dworaczyk, their children: son Dennis Dworaczyk and wife Carla, son Roger Dworaczyk and wife Melissa, daughter Kim Sonnier and husband Keith, daughter Barbara Guignard and husband Steve, son Daniel Dworaczyk and wife Trina. And also grandchildren: Justin Dworaczyk (Sadi), Micah Fontenot (Shane), Nicholas Sonnier (Shelby), Brandon Buteaux (Rikki), Christopher Sonnier (Elyssa), Kylie Neuville, Jakob Dworaczyk (Jackelyn), Brittany Mabry (Grant), Joshua Dworaczyk (Natalie), Kaitlynn Klopher, Derek Guignard, Kristen Esteve (Trae), Daniel Dworaczyk, Erin Clay (Andy), Paige Benzaia (Anthony), Keith Guignard, Joseph Dworaczyk (Alexis), Demi Dworaczyk, and Kaleb Sonnier along with 41 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and sisters: Georgia Keith, Mary Ann Bates (Will) and Lil Abshire (Cliff).
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Josephine and Henry Dworaczyk, a grandson, Collin Buteaux, brothers, Johnny, Osker, Sigmund, Henry, Jacob (Bobby), Michael, Nicholas (Jimmy) and sisters; Lorine Robalin, Clara LeBlanc and Josephine Sheffield.
The family would like to especially thank Daniel’s granddaughter, Kaitlynn Klopher, for the loving care she provided him.
Pallbearers will be Daniel’s 11 grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons-in-law.
