Rynella - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Friday, September 3, 2010 at St. Marcellus Catholic Church in Rynella for Daniel Pellerin, 88 who died Wednesday, September 1, 2010 in New Iberia . Entombment will follow in the church mausoleum, with military honors by the VFW New Iberia Post 1982. Rev. Donovan Labbe will be the Celebrant. Born on January 11, 1922 , Mr. Pellerin is a native and lifelong resident of New Iberia . He worked as an electrician for Akzo Salt, and proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. A member of the American Legion, he enjoyed gardening. Survivors include his sons, Clayton Pellerin and wife Elaine of New Iberia, Bruce Pellerin and wife Stephanie of New Iberia; daughter, Abigail 'Abby' Breaux of New Iberia; brothers, Arthur Pellerin, Roy Pellerin, Jimmy Pellerin, Johnny Pellerin, Joseph Pellerin, Warren Pellerin, and Nolan Pellerin all of New Iberia; sister, Ethel Viator of New Iberia; step daughters, Joy Babineaux, Terry Lopez, Patsy Waguespack, Tina Derouen, Jennifer Moore all of New Iberia; 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and his caregivers who were part of his family, Ella Conner, Fay August, Sierra Dutile, and Cecile Charpentier. He was preceded in death by his parents Balthazar and Estelle Herbert Pellerin; spouses, Martha Dubois Pellerin and Beatrice Moore Pellerin; brothers, Howard Pellerin, Leroy Pellerin, Robert Pellerin, Willie Pellerin; sisters, Mary Hazel Pellerin, Roberta Pellerin, Mildred Segura, Oddett Segura; step daughter, Mona Seaux; and a son-in-law, Randal 'Randy' Breaux. Pallbearers include Bruce Pellerin, Wesley Pellerin, Luke Breaux, Yates Breaux, Jude Simon, and Nolan Pellerin. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Pellerins brothers. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd , in New Iberia . A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Thursday.
