Danny DeRouen

St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m., on Saturday, February 11, 2012, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Danny Paul DeRouen, II, 7, who passed away on Monday, February 6, 2012 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville. Danny was a student at the Early Learning Center in St. Martinville. He ;loved children and was loved by his classmates and his teachers. He was a child who brought joy to everyones lives wherever he went and his presence was always known by his actions. Danny loved riding his power-wheel driven by his sister and all his neighbors would fight to push him around in his stroller. Danny will be sadly missed by his family and his many friends. Survivors include his parents, Danny DeRouen, I and LaShonda Gedward DeRouen of St. Martinville; three sisters, Destinee DeRouen of St. Martinville, Skylar DeRouen and Hallee DeRouen, both of New Iberia; his maternal grandparents, Arthur and Gloria Gedward; and maternal great grandparents, Arthur and Elsie Mae Gedward, all of St. Martinville. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Emily and William DeRouen, Sr.; and an uncle, Carroll DeRouen. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday, and continue on Saturday at 7 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. A rosary will be recited on Friday evening (time pending).
