Danny "Dr. Dup" Dupuis

New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help for Danny “Dr. Dup” Dupuis, 63, who passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022.

Interment will follow in Beau Pre Cemetery in Jeanerette.

Rev. Casey Dugas will be the Celebrant.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home and will continue on Thursday from 8:00 am until 9:30 am.

A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 6:30 pm on Wednesday.

A lifelong area resident, Danny was born on January 23, 1959 to Fred and Nell Broussard. He was a 1978 graduate of New Iberia Senior High and worked in the oilfield as a wireline operator. Danny loved playing instruments, especially his drums, being a DJ for events and riding in his boat. He also enjoyed cooking, barbequing, boiling crawfish, dancing, Hershey’s Candy Bars and his bullwhip. Always the “Life of the Party”, Danny was family oriented and was always willing to help others.

Survivors include his children, Cody Dupuis (Tiffanie), Tyler Dupuis (Heather) and Brittany Dupuis; mother, Nell Broussard Dupuis; brothers Phillip Dupuis (Nancy) and Ricky Dupuis (Patrice); grandchildren Xander Dupuis, Tyler Dupuis, Jr., Paislee Dupuis, Layla Luke, Lane Bryant; Bryson Bryant, and one due to arrive in March of 2023.

He is preceded in death by father, Fred Dupuis; and his former wife, Cindia Evans Dupuis.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Dupuis, Cody Dupuis, Chance Gonzales, Julien Dupuis, Chad Pellerin and Jordan LaSalle.

Honorary pallbearers include Bryson Bryant and Lane Bryant.
