Danny was born on September 8, 1954, in Lafayette, and raised in St. Martinville. Danny was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who lived for his family. He was also a devoted volunteer for many organizations.
Danny was always employed, at times having more than one job. As a young boy, he worked at his Uncle Papit's nursery before entering his career as a machinist for Halliburton, retiring after 35 years. When not working, his passion was to spend time with his family. He was a supportive dad at Danielle's pageants and Dia's dance classes, a mentor with the Cub Scout troop with his son, and coaching the St. Martin Parish 4-H shooting sports with his youngest daughters. He was also known for entertaining people with his jokes as "Da MC" and as Santa for many functions, which was another of his passions. He enjoyed family vacations to the beach and campgrounds, also fishing and hunting with his "Podnuh" Ron. He had a special passion for spending quality time with his grandkids.
After serving many years, Danny retired from the Cade Volunteer Fire Department as the Assistant Chief and currently served as the President of the Department with son and daughter along with all the other volunteer firemen.
He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and Camp Bluebird.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Cynthia Boudreaux Guidry; children, Danny L. Guidry, Jr. (James), Dia J. Boutte (Joshua), Desiree T. Guidry (Derek) and Delaina Guidry (Bret); grandchildren, Luke Boutte, Grace Boutte, Samantha Boutte, Katie Boutte, Martin Boutte, Michael Boutte, David Boutte, Matthew Boutte and Celeste Hoague; mother, Delta Landry Guidry; and his mother-in-law Nola Frederick Boudreaux.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Danielle Nicole Guidry; father, James Guidry, and his father-in-law, Joseph Boudreaux.
Pallbearers will be Danny's grandsons, Luke Boutte, Martin Boutte, Michael Boutte, David Boutte, Matthew Boutte, and his Podnuh, Ron Poirier.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Boutte, James Guidry, Derek Jager, Bret Hoague, Buddy Hebert and members of the Cade Volunteer Fire Department
