Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, September 21, 2008, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in Breaux Bridge, for Darold Louis Guidry, 74, who passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at St. Martin Hospital in Breaux Bridge.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Rev. Louis Allen Breaux, associate pastor of St. Bernard Church, will conduct the services.
Darold retired, having served as Chief Petty Officer- Aircraft Mechanic in the United States Navy. He was stationed in Naples, Italy and Florida while in the service. He made Breaux Bridge his home for the last 35 years. He was a member of the American Legion and the Fleet Reserves.
Survivors include his wife, Elin Hoifors Guidry of Breaux Bridge; his son, Erik Guidry of Breaux Bridge; his daughter, Lea Walker and her husband, Thomas of Spring Texas; his brothers, Nolan Guidry of Denham Springs and Melvin Guidry of Breaux Bridge; his sisters, Velma Lajaunie of Breaux Bridge and LeeAnna Serrette of Arnaudville; 2 grandchildren, Paul and Ethan Walker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anlow and Candide LeBlanc Guidry;
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday and continue at 9:00 a.m. until service time on Sunday.
A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Israel Guidry, Thomas Walker, Erik Guidry, Matthew Lajaunie, Sedric Patin and Billy Bridger.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
