Darrel Eddy, Sr.

Henderson - Darrel James Eddy Sr., 80, of Henderson, Louisiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.

Born on April 27, 1944, a veteran of the National Guard, he lived a full and vibrant life. Darrel was the beloved husband of Jeanette for 61 years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and memories.

Darrel was the proud father of two sons, Darrel Eddy Jr. (Denise) and Shane Eddy (Susan), and was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Jeannine Eddy. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his 14 grandchildren: Shana Davis (Shane), Jon Ross Eddy (Janice), Kristin Gauthier (Justin), Hopelyn Eddy, Chance Eddy, Kaylee Serrette, Luke Lasseigne (Paige), Harley Mowery (Timothy), Ashley Tankersley (Jeff), Blake Eddy, Anna Willis (Matthew), Michael Eddy (Tara), Emily Eddy, and Patrick Eddy, as well as 18 great-grandchildren: Amelia, Tryston, Olivia, Charlotte, Gabriel, Addalyn, Sawyer, Arya, Angelle, Noah, Silas, Gavin, Emilee, Gunner, Avery, Kenzley, Gracely, and Able. He is also survived by his brothers Nelson Eddy (Louanna), Chester Eddy (Gail), and a sister Faye Seneca. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Mable Eddy.

An avid outdoorsman, Darrel found joy in the beauty of nature. Whether it was catching crawfish in the basin or shrimp in the gulf, he was always happiest when surrounded by the natural world. His love for the outdoors was matched only by his love for his community, and you could often find him riding through Henderson "making his rounds," checking in on neighbors and friends.

Darrel's larger-than-life personality and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy will live on in the memories and stories he leaves behind.
