Darrel Menard

New Iberia- A rosary will be prayed at 3:30 PM, Monday, September 3, 2012, at Pellerin Funeral Home, in New Iberia, for Darrel Wayne Menard, 54, who died on Thursday, August 30, 2012 in Coteau. A gathering of family and friends will be Monday from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. Born on March 29, 1958, Darrel worked as a welder in the oilfield. He enjoyed fishing, and rooster fighting, but most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Melissa Guidry Menard of Coteau; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene and Mary Jane Viator Menard of Coteau; daughter, Devin M. Lewis and husband David of Scott; son, Dustin Menard of Coteau; brother, David Menard and wife Memorie of Denham Springs; sisters, Debra Andre and husband Artie of Cocodril, Dayna Verret and husband Craig of New Iberia, Denise Menard of Coteau; daughter-in-law, Andrea 'AJ' Menard of New Iberia; grandchildren, Drake Lewis, Dylan Menard, Ryan Menard, Dayton Lewis, and Tristan Menard; godchild, Corey Freyou. He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Wayne Menard; sister, Donna Arnaud; wifes parents, Harold and Pearl Dupuy Guidry; maternal grandparents, Harry and Agnes Viator; maternal grandparents, Homer and Azilda Menard; and a great nephew, Matthew Arnaud.Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
