Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Darrell James "Popeye" Belaire, 48, who passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2009 at Heart Hospital of Lafayette.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Rev. Paul LaFleur, Pastor of St. Bernard Church, will conduct the services. Readers will be Joey Picard and William Dugas. Gift Bearers will be Jimmy Usie and Mike Usie.
Darrell was an employee of Picard's Steel Erectors for 25 years. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, and spending time with his 2 grandsons, and his family.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Sheila Belaire of Breaux Bridge; his daughter, Kacey Belaire Theriot and her husband, Lance of Breaux Bridge; his father in law, Weston Usie; his brothers, Milton Mouton, Clifford Mouton, Clifton Mouton, Wilfred Mouton, Raymond Mouton, and William Dugas; his sisters, Jenny Abshire, Lorena Landry, and Marjorie Daigle; and his grandsons, Camden and Caymen Theriot.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eve and Wilfred Belaire; his brother, Edward Mouton, Jr., his sister, Mildred Pontiff; and his mother in law, Ruth Usie.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 13, 2009 until 10:00 a.m. Tuesday.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
Pallbearers will be Lance Theriot, Milton Mouton, Clifford Mouton, Clifton Mouton, Wilfred Mouton, Raymond Mouton, William Dugas, and Joey Picard.
Honorary pallbearers will be Weston Usie and Jason Dupuis.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
