Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 pm on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Darrell "Joey" Boudreaux, 55, who passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021, at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center.The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday and continue on Saturday at 8:00 am until 1:00 pm. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Friday by Deacon Marcel "Butch" Hebert. Rev. Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Christy Collins and Jennifer Babin. Gift Bearers will be Diana Delahoussaye, Genny LaGrand and Nancy Talley.Interment will follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum - No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Joey was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church, where he served as an usher. He was a drive pipe welder for 30 years at Petro Drive and Frank's Casing Crew. He was also the owner and operator of Joey Boudreaux's Crawfish Farm, which he shared with his boys. Joey was known for his exceptional cooking and his love of hunting, fishing, frogging, and gardening. He took everyone's kids and extended family in as his own and was a father figure to many. Joey was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He had the biggest heart and most generous spirit and will be sadly missed by the entire Breaux Bridge community. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Myra LaPorte Boudreaux; sons, Ty Boudreaux (Kasha), Scotty Boudreaux (Lauren), Tanner Boudreaux (Sarrah) and Tad Boudreaux; mother, Linda Marie Boudreaux; sister, Cheryl F. D'albor (Troy); and grandchildren, Abigail Boudreaux, Chandler Boudreaux, Wesley Boudreaux, Mason Boudreaux, Lincoln Boudreaux, and Baby Boudreaux on the way. He was preceded in death by two infant grandchildren; father, Darrell J. Boudreaux, Sr.; brother, Danny Boudreaux and his wife, Tammy; maternal grandparents, Eli and Electa Castille; and paternal grandparents, Wilbert and Edith Boudreaux. Pallbearers will be Ty Boudreaux, Scotty Boudreaux, Tanner Boudreaux, Tad Boudreaux, Chris Moreaux, and Brett Boudreaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Castille, Dale Breaux, Bryan Babin, Dwight Cormier, Eric Barras, Gary Boudreaux, and his godfather, Larry Castille.
