Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m., on Saturday, November 17, 2007, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for David Troy Alexander, 41, who passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2007 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Broussard. David Troy was born on July 1, 1966 to Janet and Jimmie. As a young child he filled the lives of his family and friends with joy and never ending laughs. He attended elementary school in Rayne, Louisiana and later moved to Breaux Bridge, Louisiana where he graduated from Breaux Bridge Senior High with the class of 1986. He had a great love for sports of all kinds but he especially loved basketball. After graduation from high school he worked for Grocery Supply in Houston, Texas and later for Credit Merchandise in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. He was affectionately known as ""Scoobie"" to many of his friends. He found the love of his life, Amy; they were married and formed a beautiful family with their 3 children, where they lived in Broussard, Louisiana. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Amy Alexander, his Mother, Janet Alexander, his son Isaiah, his daughters Cierra, and Laura; He also leaves his sisters Sandra Sinegal (James), Kathy Armstead (Norman Wayne), his brothers Gregory Portlock (Florence) and James Cole, Jr., his grandmother, Gertrude Cole, his mother-in-law, Helen Thomas, his aunts Bernadette Jolivette, Sandra Livings (Hilton), Helen Oscar (Tommy), Irene Ledet, Fannie Alexander, Ezella Alexander, and a very special aunt-in-law Annie Joseph. He leaves his uncles, John Alexander (Julia), Vincent Alexander, Dr. Livingston Alexander (Evelyn), Nelson Wiltz (Mae), Melvin Cole Jr. (Norma), Daniel Cole, Sr. (Mary Ann), Gerard Cole, Jude Cole. Also cherishing his memory is his nieces, nephews, godchildren, and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, James ""Jimmie"" Cole, Sr., his grandmother Eugenia P. Alexander, his grandfathers, Joseph Alexander, and Melvin Cole, Sr. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Friday and continue at 7:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m.on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
