David Michael Babineaux

Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for David Michael Babineaux, 58, who passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2020, at his residence. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 1:30 pm until 10:00 pm on Monday, and continue on Tuesday at 8:00 am until 1:30 pm. A rosary will be prayed at 7pm on Monday. Rev. Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas. David was employed with the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for 30 years as a HVAC Control Superintendent. He was a member of the Parks Volunteer Fire Department. David enjoyed playing the accordion, fiddle, guitar, listening to Cajun music and collecting antiques. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. He is survived by his sons, Cole Babineaux and wife, Susy of Houston, TX and Joel Babineaux of Parks; daughter, Ashley Robin and her husband, Jeremy of Arnaudville, LA; step-daughters, Amanda Poole of Austin, TX and Jessica Dickerson and spouse, Jason of Roundrock, TX; brother, Patrick Babineaux and fiancée, Melinda of Ponchatoula; sisters, Susan Fontenot and husband, Raphael of Broussard and Shelli Devillier and husband, Troy of Arnaudville; grandchildren, Layne Dickerson, Kenzy Roy and one on the way in August; parents, Forest and Juanita Babineaux of Opelousas; godchildren, Morgan Caubrreaux and Allison Devillier; and long time girlfriend, Ginger Guillory. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Nolton and Ezora Babineaux; and maternal grandparents, O''Neal and Ernestine Smith. Pallbearers will be Cole Babineaux, Joel Babineaux, Troy Devillier, Johnny Thevenet, Raphael Fontenot and Justin Devillier. Honorary pallbearers will be Patrick Babineaux, Jeremy Robin and Jason Dickerson.
