VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2009, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for David Paul Benoit, 46, who died on Sunday, August 2, 2009 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. David was a 1981 graduate of Cecilia High School, and graduated from the Police Academy. He worked for both the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Department and the Breaux Bridge Police Department. David enjoyed fishing in his spare time and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his mother, Mitzi Couvillon Benoit, of Cecilia; a niece, Abby Nicole Benoit and nephew, Joshua Paul Benoit, both of Cecilia. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Cecil Benoit; a brother, Russell Seale Benoit; and his maternal grandparents, Ione and Walter Couvillon. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 9 a.m. on Tuesday and continue until time of service on Wednesday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Mike Couvillon, Brian Couvillon, Christian Ray, Doug Landry, George Miller, and Kenneth Lemoine. Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
