David Etienne

St. Martinville - A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville for David Etienne, 72, who passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 8:00 am until 10:00 am on Saturday. Rev. Cyriaque Sounou SVD will officiate at the Funeral Service. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. David was born July 22, 1948. He honorably served in the United States Navy. After serving his country, he began working at AT&T and retired with 38 years of service. David was an avid outdoorsman and in his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Susan DeRouen Etienne of St. Martinville; son, Wayne DeRouen (Farrah) of Broussard; daughter, Lisa Ned (Shane) of Carencro; sisters, Margaret Savoy (Willie) of St. Martinville and Verna Garrett of Temple Hill, MD; brother-in-law, William Guidry; and his grandchildren, Markel DeRouen, Fallon DeRouen, Yasmine Filer, and Mya DeRouen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Etienne, Sr. and Tella Mae Tom Etienne; brothers, William "Billy" Etienne and Louis "Butch" Etienne, Jr.; sisters, Kathleen Guidry and Jane Etienne; and a brother-in-law, Joe Garrett. Pallbearers will be Wayne DeRouen, Markel DeRouen, Dwight DeRouen, Corey Savoy, Byron Savoy, and Theron Savoy. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Etienne, Eldridge Etienne, Chad DeRouen, Bradley DeRouen, Daniel DeRouen, Darrell DeRouen, Joseph DeRouen and David DeRouen.
