David Romero

New Iberia - Graveside services will be at 10:30 AM , Wednesday, July 20, 2011 , at Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia, for David 'Pete' Romero 60, who passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2011 in New Iberia . Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate. Born on August 17, 1950 , Pete was a native and lifelong resident of New Iberia , and worked as a gas mechanic for Exterran. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he enjoyed rabbit hunting, raising beagles and cattle, but his greatest pleasure was spending time with his family, especially his grandson, Drew Michael. Survivors include his wife, Cora Mayea Romero of New Iberia ; daughter, Stacy Romero of Coteau; brothers, Howard Romero, Jr. and wife Loretta of Coteau, Ernest C. Romero and wife Theresa of Lydia, Cyril Romero and wife Liz of Coteau; sister, Linda Broussard of Coteau; grandson, Drew Michael Guillot; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Aimee Sieber Romero. Pallbearers will be Hunter Romero, Justin Romero, Connor Hagan, Gary Wayne Hagan, Daniel Dugas, and Jake Romero.A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd , in New Iberia . A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Tuesday. Visitation will continue Wednesday from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM .
