David Gene Trimble

New Iberia - A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 25, 2021, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for David Gene Trimble, 60, who passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021.

Entombment will follow at St. John Cemetery in Jeanerette.

Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate.

A gathering of family and friends will be Monday, from 8:00 am until 11:00 am, at Pellerin Funeral Home, in New Iberia. A rosary, led by Deacon Durk Viator, will be prayed at 10:00 am Monday.

A lifelong area resident, David was born on October 21, 1961 to the late Burleigh and Mercedes Kern Trimble, and was a graduate of New Iberia Senior High. He enjoyed working on boats and motors, and worked many years as a marine mechanic. David loved fishing, boating, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Trimble of New Iberia; grandchildren, Brynn Watkins, and Julien Watkins; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Barbara Bouillion of New Iberia.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his son, Brandon Trimble; grandparents, Charles Kern, Sr., Esther Simoneaux Kern, Leroy Trimble and Edna Trimble.

Pallbearers will be Leigh McGowen, Randy Romero, Jerry Chauvin, Brad Bouillion, Scott Bouillion, and Brody Bouillion.
