New Iberia - Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2006, at Nativity of Our Lady ?Catholic Church in New Iberia for Nuel Dean Smith, 57, who died Friday, December 8, 2006. Entombment will be in Nativity of Our Lady Mausoleum in New Iberia. Dean was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing. ?He was a member of the Nativity of Our Lady Knights of Columbus Council No. 12997. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Stewart Smith of New Iberia; his sons, Matthew Stewart Smith and Richard Allen Smith, II both of New Iberia; his daughter, Dr. Alicia Kay Smith of Atlanta, GA.; ?his brother, Guy Steve Smith of Abbeville; and his grandchildren, Trevor Michael Smith and Ella Rose Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lavern Smith; and his brother, Richard Allen Smith. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 3:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Monday, December 11, 2006. ???A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. ?Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Pellerin Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
