VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE New Iberia - Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, on Friday, May 15, 2009, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia, for Deanna "Dee" Schexnider Nivens, 59, who passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 in Lafayette. Rev. Mike Arnaud will officiate. Born on November 8, 1949 in Port Arthur, Texas, Dee was a resident of New Iberia for most of her life and was a graduate of New Iberia Senior High. She enjoyed flowers, cooking, pets, and spending time with her sisters. Survivors include her fianc, LeRoy Marks of New Iberia; son, Chris Legnon of New Iberia; sisters, Janie McGee of Erath, Charlene Boudreaux and husband Danny of New Iberia; nephews, Todd Dore and Clint Dore both of Erath, Carl LaJaunie, Dalton Boudreaux, Bradley Boudreaux, and Shawn Boudreaux all of New Iberia; niece, Lynn Stelly of Erath; one granddaughter and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents, Dalton and Gladys Oliva Schexnider; and a half sister, Verna Gayle Schexnider. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Thursday.
