New Iberia ;- Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, on Friday, May 15, 2009, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia, for Deanna "Dee" Schexnider Nivens, 59, who passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 in Lafayette. ; Rev. Mike Arnaud will officiate. ; Born on November 8, 1949 in Port Arthur, Texas, Dee was a resident of New Iberia for most of her life and was a graduate of New Iberia Senior High. She enjoyed flowers, cooking, pets, and spending time with her sisters. ; Survivors include her fianc, LeRoy Marks of New Iberia; son, Chris Legnon of New Iberia; sisters, Janie McGee of Erath, Charlene Boudreaux and husband Danny of New Iberia; nephews, Todd Dore and Clint Dore both of Erath, Carl LaJaunie, Dalton Boudreaux, Bradley Boudreaux, and Shawn Boudreaux all of New Iberia; niece, Lynn Stelly of Erath; one granddaughter and several great nieces and nephews. ; She was preceded in death by parents, Dalton and Gladys Oliva Schexnider; and a half sister, Verna Gayle Schexnider. ; A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Thursday.
