New Iberia - Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM , Saturday, March 17, 2012 , at the First United Methodist Church in New Iberia for Dell Andrew Bergeron, 78, who passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 in Lydia . Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery . Rev. Scott Bullock will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd , in New Iberia . A scriptural wake service will be held at 6:30 PM Friday. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM . Born on November 2, 1933 on Weeks Island , Mr. Bergeron worked for the Morton Salt Company for 42 /12; years. He was a former member of the Morton Salt Company Mine Rescue Team, and the Four Bayou Hunting Club. A member of the Lydia United Methodist Church , Mr. Bergeron enjoyed deer hunting, raising dogs, and gardening. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Janice Sigur Bergeron of Lydia; sons, Andrew Bergeron and wife Jean of New Iberia, Bradley Bergeron and wife Laurie of Iberia Parish, Jay Bergeron of Lafayette; daughters, Tracey Kelone and husband Joel of Lydia, Maria Boudreaux and husband Raymond 'Jay' of Rynella, Jan Reid of Kingston, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Esther Sigur LaRive and husband Lionel of New Iberia; brother-in-law, Irving Sigur, Jr. of Grand Marais; 11 grandchildren, Bryan Bergeron, Anna Bergeron, Nicholas Bergeron and wife Leeanne Vizena Bergeron, Kasey Bergeron Broussard and husband Corey, Jesse Kelone, Dane Kelone, Ben Kelone, Ethan Boudreaux, Avery Boudreaux, Carrie Reid, Gannon Reid; and 8 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dell Joseph Bergeron and Carrie Savoie Bergeron; and an infant son. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Bryan Bergeron, Nicholas Bergeron, Jesse Kelone, Dane Kelone, Ben Kelone, Hunter Kelone, Ethan Boudreaux, Avery Boudreaux, and Gannon Reid. Honorary pallbearers include Mr. Bergeron's granddaughters, Kasey Bergeron Broussard, Anna Bergeron, Carrie Reid, and friends, Perry Landry, Tim Jolet, Preston Crochet, Gary Crochet, and Ernest Borel, Jr. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. James Falterman, Jr., Dr. Perry Stokes, Dr. David Rinaldi, Dr. Donald Pavy, Dr. Clyde Roy, Dr. Robert Lewis, Dr. Darvin Hales, the staff of Hospice of Acadiana, and the staff of Acadian Homecare for their extraordinary care and compassion.
