Della Credeur Viator

New Iberia A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM Friday, December 12, 2014 at St. Peter Catholic Church in New Iberia for Della Credeur Viator, 95, who died Monday, December 8, 2014, in Metairie. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Rev. Gary Schexnayder will be the Celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Thursday. Visitation will continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until 12:30 PM. Mrs. Viator was born on October 29, 1919 in Scott, LA to Ulysses and Fannie Landry Credeur. She was a resident of Metairie, and a former longtime resident of New Iberia. Survivors include her children, Chuck Viator and wife Susan of Metairie, Judy Atteberry and husband Charles of Houston, Texas, Barbara Carter and Dr. Thad Carter of Pass Christian, MS, Lynette Reich of Houston, Texas, Della Ishida and husband Shin of New Orleans; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Caissius Viator; a daughter, Martha Viator; son, Casey Viator; grandson, Charles Mac Atteberry; son-in-law, William Randy Reich; brothers, Woodley Credeur, Laully Credeur, Calton Credeur, and Stafford Credeur. Pallbearers will be Chuck Viator, Chuck Atteberry, Thad Carter, Shin Ishida, William Reich, Bryan Carter, Michael Carter, and Mike Hebert. Honorary pallbearers are Mark Viator, Jimmy Viator, Johnny Viator, and Todd Credeur. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Sunrise Senior Living for their extra ordinary care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in Mrs. Viators memory to Catholic High School, 1301 DeLaSalle Drive, New Iberia, LA 70560.
