Denis F. Pellegran

St. Martinville - A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville for Denis Francis Pellegran, 90, who passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2018. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday and continue on Saturday at 7:00 am until 1:00 pm. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Friday. Deacon Marcel "Butch" Hebert will officiate at the Funeral Service. Interment will follow at St. Michael Mausoleum in St. Martinville. Denis served in the United States Army, a Korean War Veteran from 1950-1952, and was a member of the VFW Post 169 in Lafayette. For many years he was a self-employed carpenter who paid much attention to detail in his work and always made sure his work was done to perfection. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, and loving on all of his grand babies. His witty and loving personality will be greatly missed. He is survived by his sons, Danny Lee Pellegran and companion Darla, and Chris Pellegran and wife Anna; daughters, Cheryle Champagne and husband Jerry, Dianne Credeur and husband Darrell, and Christine Stevens and husband Shawn; sister, Effie Landry; 21 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren; 28 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Molly Patin Pellegran; parents, Justin and Matilda Duhon Pellegran; a grandchild, Desire' Woods; brother, Chester Pellegran; sisters, Gertie Rogers, Viola Latiolais, Margie Melancon, and Roseamy Duncan. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Pellergran, Brad Viator, Billy Pellegran, Ronnie Rogers, Brice Rogers, and Danny Rogers. Honorary pallbearers will be Shawn Stevens, Jacie Laviolette, and Steve Bozworth.
