Denise Patin Perez

Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Monday, January 11, 2010, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Denise Marie Patin Perez, 45, who died on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Father Paul LaFleur will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Denise constantly gave her heart and soul to everyone and always made sure they were okay - she was "The Rock" of the family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and was anxiously awaiting the birth of her granddaughter, Cooper Jade Perez. A published poet, Denise was also a member of the APA Pool League. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Douglas John Perez, of Breaux Bridge; her son, Douglas Jude Perez and his wife, Misty Jo, of Breaux Bridge; her father and step mother, Dudley "D.J." Patin, Jr. and Marian, of Butte LaRose; her sister, Ethel Patin Noel, of Maurepas, LA; her aunt, Donna Sartain, of Morris, LA; her step brother, Donald Kirk; brothers-in-law, Donald Girouard, Dennis F. Girouard, Nathan Girouard, Victor Perez, Georgie Breaux and Bishop Lormand; one sister in law, Flora Patin; and her nieces and nephews, Gerald Plauche, Jr., Daniel Patin, David Patin, Tyler Noel, Jamyson Noel, Victoria and Matthew Kirk, Bronson Girouard, Natalie Girouard, Joanie Girouard, Casie Girouard, Dennis Girouard, Sandy Perez, Eddie Perez, Colleen Perez, and Jayden and Gabrielle Noel. She was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Wilkinson Patin; her infant grandson, Christian Jude Perez; her brothers, John Ray Patin and Dudley "Skip" Patin, III; her step sister, Rhonda Kirk; and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray D.Wilkinson, and Mr. and Mrs. Dudley Patin, Sr.; grandparent in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. George Perez; her nephew, Cody Perez, and her brother-in-law, Edny Perez The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Sunday and continue at 7 a.m.until 1:30 p.m. on Monday. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. on Sunday. Pallbearers will be Victor Perez, Don Girouard, Gerald Plauche, Tyler Noel, Daniel Patin, and David Patin. Honorary pallbearers will be Houston Wheaton, Shannon Theriot and Kenneth Trosclair. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to defray funeral expenses. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
