Breaux Bridge- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, October 7, 2023, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for Denzell "Tue Shoe" Vontrell Alexander Sr.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Saturday from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
A rosary will be prayed at 8:30 AM on Saturday.
Rev. George Bede Ajuruchi, SSJ will officiate at the funeral mass. Readers will be Felicia Johnson and Taylon Roy.
Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery.
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Denzell "Tue Shoe" Vontrell Alexander Sr. on September 27, 2023, at the age of 33. Denzell, a beloved son, father, brother, and friend, left this world far too soon. He was born on September 21, 1990, in Lafayette, LA, and resided in Breaux Bridge, LA at the time of his passing.
Denzell's presence illuminated every room he entered. His infectious smile, vibrant spirit, and charismatic personality made him the life of the party and a true friend to all who knew him. He had a zest for life that was unparalleled and approached each day with an unwavering positivity.
Denzell had a love for various activities that brought him joy and allowed him to showcase his talents. He enjoyed trail riding, football, working on cars, and dancing to the mesmerizing beats of Zydeco music. His enthusiasm for these passions was contagious, and he created lasting memories with family and friends during these cherished moments. Professionally, Denzell worked in the oil field industry as a dedicated roustabout and also served as a security guard. Denzell's dedication and resilience were evident in every aspect of his life.
Denzell leaves behind a cherished legacy that will forever be etched in the hearts of his loved ones. He is survived by his father, Eric Washington; his mother, Tammy Semere (Reginald); children, Laila Alexander, Kylie Alexander, Remi Alexander, and Denzell Alexander Jr.; his siblings, Sharita Alexander, Martika Thompson (Kendric), Erica Washington, Peyton Dugas, Jacolbi James, Andrea Dugas, and Chantell Dugas; and his godchildren, Callie Steward and Charleigh Thompson.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dalton Alexander, Sr. and Rita Alexander and maternal grandfather Walter Demouchet; paternal grandmother, Anna Rose Washington; stepfather, Joseph Dugas; uncle, Robert Alexander and Otis Demouchet; aunts, Alfreda Francis, Judy Savoy, Veronica Demouchet and Catherine Marie Morgan.
Pallbearers will be Churphy Steward, Sr., Leland Phillips, Keenze Howard, Treyvias Alexander, Brendel Landry, Jr. and Kendric Thompson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Alfred "Butum" Williams, Kevin Johnson, Sharelle Washington, John "Tiger" Williams, Nathan Batiste, Alton Batiste, Dalton Alexander, Jr., Ronald Alexander, Tyrone Alexander, Washington Alexander, Kareem Alexander, Sr., Hilton Johnson, and Toicy Babineaux, Sr.
Denzell, your departure has left a void in our lives that can never be filled, but we find peace in knowing that your generous spirit and incredible zest for life will live on in our memories forever. May your soul find eternal peace, and may we find comfort in the love and joy you brought to our lives.
