New Iberia - Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM , Friday, October 28, 2011 , at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Derrick James Duhon, 23, who passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 in New Iberia . Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate. Born on February 8, 1988 , in Lafayette , Derrick attended Westgate High School . He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his mother, Amanda Gail Duhon of New Iberia; father, Lester James Frederick and wife, Eldora of New Iberia; grandmother, Evelyn Frederick of New Iberia; aunts and uncles, Steve Duhon, Russell Duhon, Bobby Duhon, Jeffrey Duhon, Shirley Romero, Catherine Creighton, Donald Frederick, Nancy Dupuis, Barbara Frederick, Lloyd Frederick, Harry Frederick, Jr., all of New Iberia, Ernest Hebert of Lafayette. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Minos and Marie Mae Segura Duhon, Harry Frederick, Sr.; step grandfather, Louis Poirier; uncles, Glen Duhon, David Duhon, and Rickey Duhon. Pallbearers will be Lester James Frederick, Donald Frederick, Donald Romero, Sr., Donald Romero, Jr., Russell Duhon, and Jeffrey Duhon. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd , in New Iberia . A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Thursday.
