St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, January 24, 2008, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Desire ""Tit"" Joseph Delahoussaye, 85, who passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2008.
Entombment will follow at St. Michael Mausoleum, in St. Martinville.
Rev. Fr. Austin Leger, Pastor of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church, will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Gift Bearers will be Jess Blanchard, Kori Blanchard and Jordan Delahoussaye. Readers will be Nick Frederick and Tiffany Lynn Bodin.
Mr. Delahoussaye was retired with the Louisiana State Highway Department, having worked 20 years. ?He was a farmer and was also employed with Teche Bank doing maintenance work. ?He was a parishioner of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church and also served as an usher for 15 years. ?He enjoyed spending time with his family, helping others in their time of need, gardening, farming and listening to French music. ?He was an avid fan of the St. Martinville Tigers and loved playing bingo. ???
Survivors include one son, Carroll Delahoussaye and his wife, Janet; one daughter, Mary Lou Sonnier and her husband, Wayne, all of St Martinville; his son-in-law, Jerry P. Frederick, of Breaux Bridge; three brothers, Andr? Delahoussaye, Dutel Delahoussaye, both of St. Martinville, and Dudley Delahoussaye, of Baton Rouge; four sisters, Rena Huval, of Breaux Bridge, Beatrice Babin, of St. Martinville, Maydel Landry, of Port Arthur, TX, Hilda Dohmann, of St. Martinville; ?six grandchildren, Chad M. Viator and his wife, Latrelle, Kelli D. Blanchard and her husband, Jerry, Trent Delahoussaye, Nick Frederick and his wife, Wynde, Doug Frederick and his wife, Michele, Jake Delahoussaye and his girlfriend, Tiffany Bodin; and 6 great grandchildren, Drae M. Viator, Jess Blanchard, Rhette M. Viator, Jordan Delahoussaye, Kori (CoCo) Blanchard and Jayci Lynn Delahoussaye.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doreen Latiolais Delahoussaye; his daughter, Betty D. Frederick; his parents, Alexis and Natalie Landry Delahoussaye; his sisters, Lydia Huval and Emily Tauzin.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday and continue at 7:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Sonnier, Chad Viator, Trent Delahoussaye, Jake Delahoussaye, Nick Frederick and Doug Frederick.
