St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 11, 2012 at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in St. Martinville, for Desiree Jean Pellegran Woods, 29, who passed away on Friday, June 8, 2012, at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana in Lafayette. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Sunday and continue on Monday at 7:00 am until 1:45 pm. Entombment will follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. When Desire was in high school, she was very active in cheerleading and participated in numerous pageants. She was an avid sports fan of the L.S.U. Tigers. Desire was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, and friend to many, who will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband, Joshua J. Woods of Saint Martinville; her son, Bryson Robin of Saint Martinville; her father, Danny Lee Pellegran of Carencro; her mother, Vergia D. Pellegran of Arnaudville; three brothers, Telly (Edie) LeBlanc and Clyde (Helen) LeBlanc Jr., all of Breaux Bridge, and Ben Pellegran of Lake Charles; her sister, Carmen (David) Lanclos of Arnaudville; her paternal grandfather, Dennis Pellegran of Saint Martinville; father in law, Kevin Woods of Katy, TX; mother in law, Suzanne Carter-Laperouse of St. Martinville; sister in law, Candace Woods of Delcambre; and brother in law, Kole (Sylvia) Woods of Youngsville. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Claudette Pellegran; and maternal grandparents, Cleff and Marie Devillier. Pallbearers will be Telly LeBlanc, Clyde LeBlanc Jr., Kole Woods, Scott Robin, Brian Woods, and Matt Crooks.
