A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, September 27, 2012 at St. Peter Catholic Church in New Iberia for Diane Laperouse Angers who passed away peacefully at home Saturday night, September 22, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.
Rev. Charles Langlois will be the Celebrant.
Entombment will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM on Wednesday evening.Visitation will continue Thursday from 10:00 AM until 1:30 PM.
Diane was born in New Iberia on September 7, 1940.She graduated from Mount Carmel Academy in 1958. She married her first husband, Theophile 'Sonny' Moss, Jr. and they had four children. Diane was a talented piano player and taught piano lessons for many years. She also graduated from Teche Area Technical College as a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked at Cypress Hospital as a psychiatric nurse for most of her nursing career. Some of her happiest times were the years spent with her second husband, John. She enjoyed having family and friends over to visit. Diane's animated personality entertained those she spent time with, and everyone loved talking and laughing with her. She loved and cared deeply for her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her three daughters, Stephanie Moss Reich and her husband, Greg. Michelle Moss Miholic and her husband, Vincent, and Lisa Moss Penny, one son, Tommy, and his wife, Heather and 13 grandchildren, Gretchen Reich, Jenny Reich Bullitt, Andrew and Michael Reich, Grace Miholic, Joshua, Nikolas and Matthew Penny, Jacob and Kate Heis, Sophia, Theo and Olivia Moss and one great-grandchild, Alexis Reich. She is also survived by her sister, Camille Laperouse Jarrell, one niece, Elizabeth Howard Webster and two nephews, John Michael Howard and Marc Howard. Diane is also survived by many dear friends, cousins and other relatives.
Diane was preceded in death by her husband, John William Angers, and her parents, Helen 'Pye' and Lionel Laperouse, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Penny, Nikolas Penny, Marc Howard, Jacob Heis, Andrew Reich and Michael Reich.
Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Penny, Theo Moss, Vincent Miholic, Wofford Folse, Jr., John Michael Howard, and Greg Reich.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Tommy, Emily and the rest of the respiratory staff at Iberia Medical Center as well as the caring nurses of St. Joseph's Hospice.
