Dickie Romero

Coteau - Funeral services will be at 9:30 AM, Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Coteau, for Dickie J. Romero, 53, who died on Saturday, February 9, 2013. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Rev. Barry Crochet will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday from 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Tuesday. Visitation will continue Wednesday from 7:00 AM until 8:45 AM. Born on July 31, 1959 in New Iberia, Dickie was a graduate of New Iberia Senior High School. He enjoyed horse racing, and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his daughter, Brooke Romero of New Iberia; son, Dustin Romero and wife Allison of New Iberia; mother, Oceana LeBlanc Romero of Coteau; brother, Wayne Romero of Coteau; sister, Deanna Guilbeau and husband Joel of Coteau; nephew, Corey Romero of Coteau; niece, Chanda ;Romero of Coteua; ;eight grandchildren, Eugenee Derouen, Graci Derouen, Sabyn Derouen, Abby Romero, Ayden Romero, Jax Romero, Jaselin Monte, and Laythan Monte. He was preceded in death by his father, A.D. Joseph Romero; a daughter, Linzi Romero; grandparents, Elida Romero, Armance Romero, Paul LeBlanc, and Laura LeBlanc.
