Dolores Stein Derise

Lydia - Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, on Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia, for Dolores Stein Derise, 85, who passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2015, in New Iberia. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. Deacon Jay Bergeron will lead the rosary at 6:30 PM on Tuesday. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at 8:00 AM until 10:15 AM. Rev. Gregory Chauvin will be the Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery in Patoutville. A native and lifelong resident of Iberia Parish, Mrs. Derise was born on July 30, 1929 to Cleveland and Elsie Deslatte Stein. She retired from Regions Bank, and had worked at Beall's Department Store for many years. An excellent cook, she enjoyed sewing, and playing Pokeno with the same group for over 40 years. Mrs. Derise also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Robyn Crochet and husband Gary of Lydia, Frankie Green and husband Randy of Katy, Texas, and Theresa Romero and husband Ernest of Lydia; grandchildren, Tiffany Crochet Fountain and husband Scott, Justin Green and wife Sarah, Elise Green, Hunter Romero and wife Rachel, Hannah Romero; 4 great grandchildren; sister, Laverne Bourque of New Iberia; brothers, Clifford Stein and wife Pat of Natchez, MS, Kelly Stein and wife Janice of Abbeville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank "Poppie" Derise, and a brother, Hardy Stein. Pallbearers will be Randy Green, Gary Crochet, Ernest Romero, Justin Green, Hunter Romero, Scott Fountain.
