Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, May 31, 2010, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Dolores Cooley Mortimer, 77, who passed away on Friday, May 28, 2010 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Rev. Louis Allen Breaux , will conduct the services. Readers will be Lesi Angelle and Penny Doucet. Gift bearers will be Stephanie A. Legendre and Nicole Taylor. Roses will be presented to the Virgin Mary by Alexandra Doucet, Katherine Doucet and Gracie Warren. Dolores was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. She loved music, and in her younger days, she and her sister, Wanda sang on the local radio stations. Dolores played the flute and she loved classical music. Her favorite artists were Andrea Bocelli and Luciano Pavarotti. Dolores collected porcelain birds and was an avid reader. One of ;her favorite things to eat was chocolate; a piece of chocolate would always make her day brighter. Survivors include her sons, Joseph Michael Doucet and his wife, Nancy of Idaho, Terry Doucet and his wife, Gwynne of Eunice, Lee Doucet and life time partner, Robert Rippey ;of California and Nicholas Doucet and his wife, Maria of Lafayette; her daughters, Barbara Taylor and Marcia Angelle and her husband, Michael of Breaux Bridge; her sisters, Wanda Henry and her husband, 'Red' of Merryville and Jean Watson of Merryville; her grandchildren, Blake Doucet, Penny Doucet, Nicholas ;Joseph ;Doucet, Alexandra Doucet, Katherine Doucet, Andrew Taylor, Nicole Taylor, Stephanie Angelle Legendre and Lesi Angelle; her great grandchildren, Gracie Warren, Tyler Warren, Kade Michael Legendre and Andrews unborn child, Hanz Solon Taylor. She was preceded in death by her parents, Falva and Lillie Norris Cooley; her former husband, Joseph Doucet; her husband, Eric Mortimer, her brother, Darwin Cooley, her grandson, Cody Angelle and her son-in law, Sonny Taylor. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 30, 2010 and continue at 7:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Monday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. Pallbearers will be Andrew, Terry, Blake, Michael, Eric, Nick and Nicholas. Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler and Kade. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux is in charge of arrangements.
