New Iberia - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Don Eric "Tay" Taylor, 59, who passed away on Monday, January 23, 2017, in New Iberia.
Entombment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.
Rev. Mario Romero will officiate. Readers include Avery Bernard, Matthew Gulotta, and Meleesa Broussard.
A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM. Friday. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM.
Mr. Taylor was born on September 3, 1957 to the late Frank and Eunice Comeaux Taylor, and was a 1975 graduate of Catholic High. He worked as a radiologic and nuclear medicine technologist for Iberia Medical Center for 25 years, and was a member of the Pit N Pot Supper Club. An avid sports and NASCAR fan, "Tay" also enjoyed hunting, fishing, sport shooting, and gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Elizabeth Hebert Taylor of New Iberia; sister, Yvonne Marie Taylor of New Iberia; mother-in-law, Doralisse Hebert of New Iberia; brother-in-law, Richard Hebert and wife Lisa of New Iberia; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; and his beloved dog, Max.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Carlyle Hebert, Sr.
Pallbearers will be Jody Badeaux, David Bernard, Tommy Musso, Rose Leeson, Matt Broussard, Brent Verret, Richard Romero, and Stephen Musso.
Honorary pallbearers include his godchildren, Matt Gulotta, Ashton Mothersbaugh, Dylan Broussard, Blake LeBlanc, Avery Bernard, Edmond Rose, and also Charles Delahoussaye, and Phil Delahoussaye.
The family would like to give special thanks to Tays family, friends, Sydney Jo LeBlanc of the Cancer Center of Acadiana, and Matt Musso and staff of L&M Pharmacy, for their love and support.
