Donald Lasseigne

September 3, 1929 — December 23, 2005

St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, December 27, 2005, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Donald Lasseigne, 76, who died Friday, December 23, 2005 at Iberia General Medical Center in New Iberia. Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Fr. Austin Leger, pastor of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church will conduct the services. Mr. Lasseigne was retired from Southern Pacific Railroad. ?He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 3469 and the American Legion, Post 71 and DAV. Survivors include his son, Bryan Lasseigne and his wife, Susan Williams Lasseigne of St. Martinville; his companion, Shirley Falgout of Lydia; his sister, Oline Lasseigne Breaux of New Iberia; three grandchildren, ?Crystal, Misty and Olivia Lasseigne all of St. Martinville and one great grandchild, Micheal Duplantis of St. Martinville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maizel Barras Lasseigne; his parents, Etienne and Ida Lasseigne; his brother, Whitney Lasseigne, Sr.; and his grandson, Bryan James Lasseigne, Jr. The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 am till 10:00 pm on Monday and continue at 7:00 am on Tuesday until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Monday Pallbearers will be Tommy Latiolais, Paul Doucet, Jr., Carol Blanchard, Kerry Romero, Jimmy Williams, and Whitney Lasseigne, Jr. Honorary pallbearer will be Brian Romero. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
