A native and lifelong area resident, Mr. Stein was born on May 11, 1934, to the late Asia and Lelia Broussard Stein. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army and worked as a welder in the oilfield. He enjoyed growing a large vegetable garden and sharing the fruits of his labor at harvest time. Mr. Stein also loved cooking and eating what he had grown. Of course, if you would ask him, he would surely pass on the God given knowledge on how he grew those big juicy red vines ripened tomatoes. He cherished every moment that he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors included his children, Lincoln LeBlanc (Penny), Lee LeBlanc (Kim), Kenneth Stein (Angie), Kevin Stein (Monica), Donald Stein, Jr., and Ann Naquin (Barry); grandchildren, Trey LeBlanc (Kenzie), Haley LeBlanc, Brittney Lasseigne (Brennan), Mason Stein, Ramsey Stein, Nicki Stein, Brody Boudoin (Katie), and Brylee Verret (Shane); step grandchildren, Brody Bourque and Brittany Bourque; great grandchildren, Skylar, Braxton, and Kohen LeBlanc, Rylee and Ridge Lasseigne, Otto Buteaux, Dawsyn Boudoin, and one on the way; sister, Mary Lynn Stein Dartez (Ronnie).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Mary Nell Gary Stein; brother and sister-in-law, Asia Stein, Jr. and Joyce Dugas Stein; and a baby brother, Hilton Stein.
Pallbearers will be Trey LeBlanc, Mason Stein, Brody Boudoin, Ramsey Stein, Brennan Lasseigne, and Shane Verret.
