St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, September 22, 2012, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Donald Alton Thomas, 70, who passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2012. Fr. Ed Degeyter will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Jade Thomas. His grandchildren will serve as Pallbearers and Gift Bearers. Entombment will follow at St. Michael Mausoleum in St. Martinville. Donald enjoyed working and had a passion for antiques and coin collecting. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren and the love of his life, his 'Beloved' wife, Mary Ann. Donald found contentment in the peaceful moments spent sitting on his back porch watching the birds and drinking his coffee. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include loving wife of 47 years, Mary Ann B. Thomas of St. Martinville; four sons, Troy Thomas and wife, Dolan, Tony Thomas and wife, Lisa, all of Parks, Terril Thomas and wife, Amanda, of St. Martinville, and Howard Thomas and wife, Jade, of Broussard; three sisters, Phyllis Boumans of Broussard, Bettye Broussard of St. Martinville, and Elaine Oubre and husband, Glen, of Broussard; and his seven grandchildren, Trent, Justin, Heather, Tony, Jr., Trey, Donnie, and Logan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Marie Duchamp Thomas; and a sister, Marian Barras. Pellerin Funeral Home , (337.332.2111), is in charge of arrangements.
