Doris Dartez Bonin

New Iberia – A Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am, on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Pellerin Funeral Home, for Doris Dartez Bonin, 87, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 2, 2023, surrounded by her family.

Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.

Deacon Durk Viator will officiate.

Visitation will be Thursday, from 9:00 am until 10:30 am, at Pellerin Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bonin was born on May 19, 1936, to the late John and Elmay Miguez Dartez, and was raised on Avery Island. A graduate of New Iberia Senior High, she enjoyed living a simple life. She and her husband, J. Warren, were inseparable, doing as much together as possible. Mrs. Bonin was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who cherished her family deeply.

Survivors include her husband of over 67 years, J. Warren Bonin; children, David Bonin (Emma), and Alison Mendoza (Scott); grandchildren, Jared Bonin (Krista) and Zach Mendoza (Megan); great grandchildren, Brooks Mendoza, William Bonin, Adeline Bonin, and Everett Bonin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Rosemary Richardson, and a daughter-in-law, Becky Gary Bonin.
