Doris Ann Douet Guidry

Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, March 28, 2008, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Doris Ann Douet Guidry, 58, who passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Fr. Chanh Nguyen will officiate at the funeral Mass. Readers will be Tisa Broadbent and Kim LeBlanc. Gift bearers will be Kelsie Stelly, Rachelle Gallet, and Maureen Usie. Brenda Douet will serve as Eucharistic Minister and Lyle "Yard Dog" Gallet, will be the Altar Server. Doris enjoyed working in her flowers and drinking coffee. She loved spending time with her husband of 38 years and her family. Survivors include her husband, Ed Guidry, of Breaux Bridge; three daughters, Cecile Stelly and her husband, David, of Cecilia, Windy Romero and her husband, Todd, and Lanette Boutte and her husband, Ernie, all of St. Martinville; one brother, Charles Douet and his wife, Brenda, of Breaux Bridge; one sister, Elsie Stelly, of Breaux Bridge; six grandchildren, Kelsie and Jude Stelly, Seth and Riley Romero, and Drake and Addison Boutte; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Antoine and Yola Belaire Douet. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Thursday and continue at 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Friday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Thursday. Pallbearers will be David Stelly, Todd Romero, Ernie Boutte, Ryan Guidry, Robert Belaire, Jr., and Glenn Gallet. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Douet, Ted Talley, Seth Romero, Jude Stelly, Drake Boutte, Jacob Gallet, Gary Talley, and Waylon Devillier. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff and Doctors of ICU, 8th Floor Extended Care for the care and attention provided to her. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
